Jason Inniss was born and raised in Barbados. After finishing high school at age 16, he moved to Canada and attended St. Andrew's College in Aurora, Ontario. From St. Andrew's, Jason went on to study history at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. He then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he attended chef school at the Dubrulle French Culinary Institute.

Jason began his culinary career working as a private chef on a yacht that travelled from the Queen Charlotte Islands on the west coast of North America to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. He has worked and trained under Pino Posteraro at Cioppino's in Vancouver, and Marc Thuet at Centro and The Fifth in Toronto. In 2005, Jason partnered up with Bertrand Alépée to open Amuse-Bouche Restaurant, where they received numerous awards and accolades for their cuisine. Amuse-Bouche received 4 stars from The Toronto Star and was rated 20th in James Chatto's 2006 Toronto Life's Best Restaurants in Toronto.

Jason is also a founding member of Cross Town Kitchens and is a member of Slow Food Canada. Jason strongly believes in using local and sustainable products.

Whether you're concidering a backyard birthday party or a luxurious New Year's Eve celebration, a cottage lobster bash or a Caribbean fete, I can plan and cook for a wide variety of events, styles, and cuisines.





Private In-Home Dinning:

From a truffle and wild game dinner for 20, to an intimate liaison for 2, or a menu created specifically for your wine collection, this is a great way to entertain friends, family, or clients.





Corporate Events:

Closing dinners, Christmas parties, book launches, and private film screenings are just a few of the events I offer. Sit-down dinners, buffets, or elegant passed hors 'doeuvres for 10 to 500 guests - I can cater in the office or in an event theatre.



Alternative Weddings:

I can create a kitchen anywhere. Whether you want to celebrate your big day on a sailboat, at the beach the cottage, farm, or even your backyard, I can develop menus to suite your style and budget. Whether a luxurious 7-course meal during apple blossom season, or a pig roast in the summer, I'll ensure a delicious memorable experience.




Cooking Classes:

Do you have appliances and tools in your kitchen that you don't know how to use? Is there a recipe or type of food that you've always wanted to learn how to prepare? These classes can be as simple as one-on-one instruction or group fun with friends and family. We can make Gingerbread houses, learn how to use your grill, make homemade pasta, and/or find out what searing really means.





Knife Skills Classes:

For everyone from serious amateurs to those who are new to the kitchen, this class will teach you how to handle maintain and care for your knives. From basic prep skills and the different vegetable cuts to filleting fish, these classes will be tied into preparing meals.
Advanced classes will deal with butchering as well as carving cooked meats.

Do you want to try something new but are scared to mess it up? Deep frying turkeys, roasting whole animals, or even organizing a party for the whole family can be a bit daunting. I can help organize and instruct you, so that everything goes smoothly and deliciously.
